Organizational structure

What is the organizational structure of the foundation?

The organizational structure of the Libyan Technology Foundation consists of several levels and responsibilities:

  • Board of Trustees: The highest authority in the foundation, overseeing the formulation of general policies and strategic plans, amending the statutes, selecting the chairman of the board and board members, reviewing performance reports, and approving the annual budget. It also has the authority to monitor the board’s activities and approve the establishment or dissolution of the foundation’s branches.

  • Board of Directors: The executive body of the foundation, responsible for setting general policies, managing daily activities, raising and spending funds, and overseeing specialized committees. The board also prepares plans, budgets, and reports, reviews membership applications, and supervises the foundation’s investments.

  • Chairman of the Board: Responsible for managing and overseeing the work of the board and its departments, representing the foundation before external parties, and preparing for board meetings. The chairman also oversees administrative and financial tasks and issues assignments.

  • Staff: The core team responsible for executing administrative and operational tasks daily. They contribute to implementing plans, improving internal processes, and supporting the foundation’s leadership.

  • Experts: A group of 70 specialists who provide technical and professional support for projects. Their role includes offering consultations, developing technical solutions, and training staff and volunteers, contributing to innovation and ensuring project quality.

  • Volunteers: A large group of over 100 individuals who support activities and projects voluntarily, through event organization and project execution. Their role is crucial in strengthening the community and supporting the foundation’s tech initiatives.

How are the Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman, and Financial Supervisor selected?

The Board of Trustees announces the opening for nominations to the new Board of Directors 180 days before the current board’s term ends and closes the nominations 90 days before the end of the term. The names of the nominees are submitted to the commission within a week of the closing of nominations, and the list is posted at the foundation’s headquarters or on its website for at least 15 days. The Board of Trustees elects the new members in a regular meeting and informs the commission of their names within 15 days of the election. Subsequently, the Board of Directors holds a meeting to elect the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Financial Supervisor in the presence of a commission representative. Candidates for these positions must demonstrate leadership, appropriate academic qualifications, experience in the field, familiarity with the foundation’s goals, financial and accounting expertise, and good relationships with relevant parties.

Yes, the foundation offers partnerships with many local entities. We are open to partnerships as long as they comply with the applicable Libyan regulations.
