Libyan Technology Foundation Signs MoU with the Criminal Investigation Department
On 29 September 2026,Libyan Technology Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding and joint cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Department – Information Technology Crimes Unit, at the Department’s headquarters in Tripoli, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation and exchange expertise in technical areas of mutual interest.
The MoU focuses on developing cooperation in information technology and combating crimes in the virtual world, while leveraging the expertise and capabilities available to both parties. It aims to support technical capacity development, knowledge exchange, and scientific research in areas related to digital crime and criminal investigation.
The signing ceremony was attended by Major General Mahmoud Ashour Al-Ajili, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department. Representing the Libyan Technology Foundation were Amin Saleh, Chairman of the Board; Muhannad Al-Hadiri, Executive Director; and Musab Al-Tajouri, Board Member, alongside representatives from both parties.
The MoU reflects LTF’s approach to building effective partnerships with national institutions and leveraging technical and knowledge-based expertise to support areas related to technology and digital security, while creating opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange among specialists.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, the Libyan Technology Foundation was presented with an honorary shield in recognition of its support for Al-Bousala Digital Magazine, which focuses on issues related to the legal regulation of the virtual world. The recognition reflects LTF’s role in supporting specialized knowledge initiatives related to the technology sector.
The signing of the MoU represents a step toward establishing a structured framework for cooperation between the Libyan Technology Foundation and the Criminal Investigation Department, enabling the development of joint initiatives and activities that draw on the complementary technical and specialized expertise of both parties.
