Libyan Technology Foundation Obtains Institutional Membership in AFRINIC
Libyan Technology Foundation continues to expand its engagement within specialized technical communities and ecosystems by joining the African Network Information Centre AFRINIC
AFRINIC is the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) serving Africa and the Indian Ocean region and is one of five Regional Internet Registries worldwide. It is responsible for the management and distribution of Internet number resources across the region, including IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs).
This membership places LTF within a specialized African technical community that brings together organizations and institutions involved in Internet infrastructure, Internet number resource management, and related policy development. It also provides opportunities for engagement, knowledge exchange, and participation in discussions and activities related to the evolution of the Internet across the continent.
The membership also aligns with LTF’s interest in Internet and digital infrastructure, as well as its work in following technologies related to network development, including IPv6. It further expands the Foundation’s channels of engagement with the African technical community and provides access to specialized knowledge, experience, and practices in this field.
Joining AFRINIC adds to LTF’s ongoing efforts to build relationships with regional and international technical organizations and communities and to strengthen Libya’s presence in spaces concerned with the future and development of the Internet.
