Digital Compass Magazine | Where Technology Meets Law

    |

As the digital world continues to expand, the questions it raises extend beyond technology to encompass law, rights, responsibilities, and security.

What happens across digital platforms, networks, and systems is now closely connected to a range of legal and security issues, from rights and responsibilities to digital evidence and the challenge of navigating a landscape that sometimes evolves faster than the frameworks designed to regulate it.

Against this backdrop, Digital Compass Magazine — the Libyan Journal of CyberLaw provides a dedicated space for research and discussion at the intersection of technology and law. Published by the Information Technology Crimes Department of the Criminal Investigation Agency, the magazine brings legal expertise and technical understanding together to explore issues that have become increasingly relevant to individuals, institutions, and the state.

The magazine’s value lies not only in publishing specialized issues, but also in providing a Libyan knowledge platform that approaches the digital world as a space requiring balanced legal and technical perspectives. Through this platform, topics such as cybercrime, electronic evidence, digital rights, and technology-related regulatory frameworks can be explored, alongside other issues that continue to evolve as Internet use and digital technologies expand.

Since the magazine’s launch, Libyan Technology Foundation has supported its development and contributed to its production in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Agency, recognizing the importance of specialized local content that can keep pace with technological change and examine it within its legal and social context.

LTF’s support for Digital Compass Magazine is not tied to a single issue or occasion. Rather, it reflects the importance of developing local knowledge resources that professionals, researchers, policymakers, and the wider public can turn to for a better understanding of the challenges and issues emerging in the digital world.

In an environment where technology is constantly evolving, the need for this type of content becomes increasingly clear. The question is no longer limited to what technology can do, but extends to how we engage with it legally, how we protect rights, and how we understand the responsibilities that arise alongside it.

Digital Compass Magazine continues its journey as a knowledge platform connecting two fields whose intersection becomes increasingly significant with every new digital transformation: law and technology.
