National Technology Day – 2026
June FIRST , Libya celebrated the National Technology Day in its various cities and institutions, in a scene that reflected the growing status of technology and its role in shaping the future.
This occasion witnessed a number of important milestones, most notably the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Libyan Technology Foundation and the Ministry of Youth – Libya, and the signing of another memorandum of understanding with the Higher Committee for Implementing the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, consisting of the Libyan Audit Bureau and the National Anti-Corruption Authority, in support of digital transformation paths and in enhancement of institutional cooperation.
Also, the summary of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report on human capacity development was released, and the branch of the Libyan Information Technology Foundation was opened in the city of Benghazi, in a step that reflects the expansion in supporting technical initiatives nationwide.
The day also witnessed the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Charter 2026, and the announcement of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2026 – 2030, representing a step towards building a national framework that keeps pace with the rapid developments in this field.
Also among the most prominent launches is the Libyan Audit Bureau’s announcement of the “Athar” platform for oversight tasks, which was developed to enhance the efficiency of oversight work, support digital transformation, consolidate the principles of transparency, and raise the effectiveness of institutional performance.
