Participation of Libyan Technology Foundation in AI Governance Dialogue as a part of the WSIS and AI for Good events
Libyan Technology Foundation participated in the AI Governance Dialogue, held in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of the World Summit on the Information Society WSIS Forum 2026 events, and in conjunction with the global AI for Good summit. Both events are among the most prominent international platforms dedicated to discussing the future of artificial intelligence and digital transformation on a global scale.
The dialogue aimed to bring together decision-makers, experts, governmental entities, international organizations, as well as public and private sector institutions to discuss the future of AI governance. It provided a platform to review best practices in developing regulatory frameworks and policies that ensure the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies, achieving a balance between innovation, rights protection, and the promotion of sustainable development.
The sessions also addressed several topics related to developing AI policies, enhancing international cooperation, capacity building, and discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies. Additionally, they highlighted the role of governance in supporting innovation and building more sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystems.
On the sidelines of the events, the Libyan Technology Foundation held side meetings with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). During these meetings, several topics of mutual interest were discussed, most notably the Digital Transformation Center (DTC), as part of exploring cooperation opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and supporting initiatives aimed at developing national capacities in digital transformation fields.
The participation of the Libyan Technology Foundation comes as part of its keenness to follow the key global developments in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and to strengthen its presence in international forums. This contributes to knowledge exchange, partnership building, leveraging international experiences, and supporting national efforts toward adopting best practices in technology and digital governance.
