Libyan Technology Foundation participated in the AI Governance Dialogue, held in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of the World Summit on the Information Society WSIS Forum 2026 events, and in conjunction with the global AI for Good summit. Both events are among the most prominent international platforms dedicated to discussing the future of artificial intelligence and digital transformation on a global scale.

The dialogue aimed to bring together decision-makers, experts, governmental entities, international organizations, as well as public and private sector institutions to discuss the future of AI governance. It provided a platform to review best practices in developing regulatory frameworks and policies that ensure the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies, achieving a balance between innovation, rights protection, and the promotion of sustainable development.

The sessions also addressed several topics related to developing AI policies, enhancing international cooperation, capacity building, and discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies. Additionally, they highlighted the role of governance in supporting innovation and building more sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystems.

On the sidelines of the events, the Libyan Technology Foundation held side meetings with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). During these meetings, several topics of mutual interest were discussed, most notably the Digital Transformation Center (DTC), as part of exploring cooperation opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and supporting initiatives aimed at developing national capacities in digital transformation fields.

The participation of the Libyan Technology Foundation comes as part of its keenness to follow the key global developments in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and to strengthen its presence in international forums. This contributes to knowledge exchange, partnership building, leveraging international experiences, and supporting national efforts toward adopting best practices in technology and digital governance.

The Foundation reaffirms its commitment to continued engagement in international initiatives and events that support innovation, promote the responsible use of modern technologies, and contribute to building a sustainable digital future that keeps pace with global developments.

In a step reflecting the increasing interest in building a tech community that is more connected and knowledge-exchanging, the Developers Summit event concluded on Saturday, corresponding to July 18, 2026, which was hosted by the Future Library, and witnessed a wide attendance of developers, programmers, and those interested in technology from various disciplines.

The summit formed a platform that gathered people of expertise and those interested in the tech field in a meeting that focused on discussing the most prominent trends that shape the future of software, where the speakers presented a group of axes that reflected their practical experiences and their vision for modern technologies, and opened the way in front of the attendees to get to know new ideas, exchange experiences, and discuss the challenges that developers face in different work environments.

And the summit included a number of diverse axes, the most prominent of which were:

  • Shaping the Next: Quantum Computers Generation of Computing.
  • How to chisel your container?
  • skills that make a difference for any developer
  • Building the Next Generation of Application using Kubernetes
  • the Right Tool… for the Wrong Task
  • A Journey Inside the Mind of an Attacker.

And these axes dealt with subjects that extended from emerging technologies, the future of computing, and the best practices of developing modern applications, to the software infrastructure, cybersecurity, and the importance of choosing the right tools to solve tech challenges, in what reflects the diversity of the fields that interest the developers community today.

Also, the summit was distinguished by an interactive atmosphere, where it was not limited to presenting the axes, but rather witnessed rich discussions between the speakers and the attendees, during which many questions and inquiries were raised, and the participants exchanged points of view and practical experiences, which added to the event a greater cognitive value, and contributed to enriching the dialogue around the future of modern technologies and the opportunities and challenges that the sector witnesses.

And the organization of this event comes as a result of the cooperation of a number of supporting entities, where we advance with sincere thanks to the Government Communication Center and Al-Waha Company for Organizing Exhibitions for their contribution in the success of the summit, and we also direct thanks to the Future Library for hosting the activities of the event, and to the Telecommunications Holding Company in its capacity as the official sponsor of the summit.

In conclusion, we direct thanks to all the speakers who enriched the summit with their expertise and experiences, and to everyone who participated, attended, and contributed in the success of this event. And we hope that such initiatives continue in supporting the developers community, enhancing the culture of sharing knowledge, and creating spaces for dialogue and innovation that keep pace with the accelerating development in the world of technology.

held by the General Information Authority on Monday, 20 July 2026, under the chairmanship of Eng. Abdulbasit Salem Al-Baour, Chairman of the Authority, as part of the national efforts aimed at strengthening Libya’s presence in international initiatives concerned with information and digital transformation.

The meeting witnessed the official announcement of the launch of the National Committee for the Information for All Programme (IFAP), established pursuant to Decision No. (50) of 2026, to lead the national coordination efforts with UNESCO’s Information for All Programme (IFAP), contributing to supporting information policies, promoting equitable access to information, and developing national capacities in this field.

The meeting also reviewed the programme’s objectives and its main areas of focus, which include Information for Development, Information Literacy, Information Preservation, Information Ethics, Access to Information, in addition to supporting Multilingualism in Cyberspace, thereby enhancing the role of Member States in building knowledge societies.

The meeting also addressed the proposed roadmap for the committee’s work, the coordination mechanisms among national entities, its role in representing Libya at relevant regional and international forums, and building partnerships with UNESCO, opening new horizons for cooperation, the exchange of expertise, and benefiting from training and capacity-building opportunities.

The Libyan Technology Foundation affirms the importance of participating in such national initiatives, stemming from its role in supporting digital transformation, promoting information governance, and contributing to the development of a sustainable technology ecosystem that aligns with international best practices and standards.

The Foundation extends its sincere thanks to the General Information Authority for organizing this meeting and conveys its best wishes for the National Committee’s success in achieving its objectives, contributing to strengthening Libya’s presence in international initiatives related to information and digital transformation.

We at LTF successfully concluded the “Agentic Software Engineering” session!

In an interactive atmosphere that gathered an elite group of developers and tech enthusiasts, the office of the Libyan Technology Foundation in Benghazi organized a specialized training session entitled:

Agentic Software Engineering

Presented by Abdulrahman Al-Kilani and Hashem Bouzer on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vision Center.

Through the session, the participants learned about:

  • The concept of agentic software engineering and how it reshapes the developer’s role.
  • A comprehensive tour of the tools: Agentic IDEs, MCP protocol, and user interfaces.
  • Artificial Intelligence models (AI Models), the differences between them, and when to use each model.
  • The workflow (Flow) in agentic projects from idea to execution.
  • The basics of writing professional Prompts to get the best results.
  • A live practical demonstration (Live Demo) on a real project implemented with artificial intelligence, and an applied activity in which the attendees participated in writing Prompts and trying out the tools.

Today, we received in our pavilion Mr. Naji Issa, within the activities of the first day of the EPAIX 2026 exhibition for electronic payment and financial technologies.
During the visit, we reviewed our latest digital solutions and services, where the Governor listened to explanations about our future projects aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and facilitating electronic transactions. We were pleased with his praise for the level of our services, and his emphasis on the importance of technical innovation to support digital transformation and develop the financial sector in Libya.

The General Scout and Guide Movement celebrates the National Technology Day in Tripoli

The General Scout and Guide Movement celebrated, this Monday, the activities of the National Technology Day, during a ceremony held at the Corinthia Hotel, under the generous sponsorship of the Libyan Technology Foundation, and within the framework of the partnership and joint cooperation between the two sides to enhance technical awareness and empower youth to keep pace with rapid digital developments.

The event was attended by Deputy General Commander, Leader Mahmoud Shamila, Tripoli Commissioner General, Leader Mukhtar Al-Shatshati, and members of the General Command, in addition to leaders of the Tripoli Commission and a number of those interested in technical and youth affairs.

  • The ceremony included a panel discussion that dealt with the reality of technology in Libya and its future prospects in the Scout Movement, in which Leader Hamza Al-Mahmoudi, Commissioner of Information at the General Command, and Engineer Amin Saleh, Chairman of the Libyan Technology Foundation, participated, where they discussed the importance of digital transformation, its role in shaping the future, and the need to invest in building digital skills and promoting a culture of innovation and creativity.
  • The event also included a number of artistic segments and visual presentations that reviewed the development of technology and its impact in various areas of life, in addition to highlighting inspiring models and experiences in the field of innovation and technology, which gave the occasion a distinctive interactive character that was well received by the attendees.

National Technology Day – 2026

June FIRST , Libya celebrated the National Technology Day in its various cities and institutions, in a scene that reflected the growing status of technology and its role in shaping the future.
This occasion witnessed a number of important milestones, most notably the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Libyan Technology Foundation and the Ministry of Youth – Libya, and the signing of another memorandum of understanding with the Higher Committee for Implementing the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, consisting of the Libyan Audit Bureau and the National Anti-Corruption Authority, in support of digital transformation paths and in enhancement of institutional cooperation.
Also, the summary of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report on human capacity development was released, and the branch of the Libyan Information Technology Foundation was opened in the city of Benghazi, in a step that reflects the expansion in supporting technical initiatives nationwide.
The day also witnessed the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Charter 2026, and the announcement of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2026 – 2030, representing a step towards building a national framework that keeps pace with the rapid developments in this field.
Also among the most prominent launches is the Libyan Audit Bureau’s announcement of the “Athar” platform for oversight tasks, which was developed to enhance the efficiency of oversight work, support digital transformation, consolidate the principles of transparency, and raise the effectiveness of institutional performance.
Excerpts from a day that was not just an annual celebration, but a national station that witnessed initiatives, partnerships, and launches whose effects will remain extended to what comes after this.
